Ideal for high-stress, high-temperature uses
-
Aluminum Rectangles in Series 2024 are known for their high strength and excellent fatigue resistance, making them advantageous for structures and parts where a good strength-to-weight ratio is desired. This alloy is readily machinable and can be formed in the annealed condition, with subsequent heat treatment possible. While arc or gas welding is generally not recommended due to its low corrosion resistance, it may be spot, seam, or flash welded. Common applications include aircraft structural components, fittings, hardware, truck wheels, and parts for the transportation industry. Available in various sizes and grades: 2024-T4, 2024-T351. Grades: AMS-QQ-A-225/6, AMS 4120, ASTM B211, UNS A92024. Industries of use: Aerospace, transportation, automotive.
